Switching from Attainia to 4Tower in FitUp

Making the switch from Attainia to 4Tower? No worries, we've got you covered! This guide walks you through disconnecting your Attainia integration and setting up your new 4Tower connection in FitUp. The process takes just a few minutes, and your product data stays safe the entire time.

Before You Begin

Before starting, make sure you have the following:

  • 4Tower credentials for FreightTrain: You'll need a User Name and Password that has been set up specifically for FreightTrain as a user on your 4Tower project. You can get these from your 4Tower team. Do not use your personal login credentials- the account must be a dedicated FreightTrain user.
  • Admin access: You'll need access to the Administration module in FitUp.

Part 1: Disconnect Attainia

First, we'll turn off the Attainia sync so your project is ready for the 4Tower connection.

  1. In FreightTrain FitUp, make sure you are in the Administration module.
  2. Click on the Application Integration Management (API) link on the Administration page.


3. Click on the Attainia icon. 



4. Click the Edit button next to the project listed under Link Attainia Project IDs.



5. Uncheck the IsActive checkbox to turn off the sync process.


6. Click Save and Close on this page, and then Save and Close again on the next page.

Important: Both pages need to be saved for the change to take effect!

That's it! Attainia is now disconnected. Let's get 4Tower set up!

Part 2: Connect 4Tower

Now we'll set up your new 4Tower connection. This is where the magic happens!

  1. Under the Project Management heading, click on the Application Integration Management (API) link.
  2. On the API menu, click on the 4Tower icon.
  3. Click the checkbox next to Activate 4Tower for Project to continue.
  4. Click on the Link New 4Tower Project button
  5. On the Set Up 4Tower Project Link page, complete the following:
    1. Make sure the Is Active checkbox is checked.
    2. Enter the FreightTrain User Name for the 4Tower application.

      Notes
      Remember: this is the dedicated FreightTrain user account, not your personal login.

    3. Enter the FreightTrain Password for the 4Tower application.

      Notes
      Same here: use the dedicated FreightTrain credentials, not your own.

    4. Click Login to 4Tower to verify your credentials.
    5. Select the 4Tower Project Name to link to FreightTrain.
    6. (Optional) If you'd like to receive a notification each time 4Tower data syncs with FitUp, enter the recipient email address(es) in the Send Delivery Transmission Email To field.
    7. Select which Product Categories you'd like to include.
    8. Select which Buildings you'd like to include.

  1. Once you've finished configuring the connection, click Save and Continue to proceed.
  2. Click Save and Continue again to close the settings page.

You're all set! Your 4Tower connection is now connected. The process should run within the next 1-2 hours.

What Happens Next: Migration Matching

When 4Tower syncs for the first time, FitUp automatically matches your existing products to their 4Tower counterparts. Here's how it works:

  • Products that match: FitUp uses the Attainia ID (Source ID) from 4Tower to find your existing products. Matched products are linked to 4Tower and will sync going forward using your configured 4Tower settings.
  • New products from 4Tower: Any products in 4Tower that don't have an Attainia history are created as new products in FitUp.
  • Unmatched products: If a product exists in FitUp with an Attainia ID but no matching Source ID is found in 4Tower, it won't be linked. These products will be listed in the Migration Status Report so you can review them.

Migration Status Report

After the first sync completes, a Migration Status Report will be sent to our Helpdesk and to any email addresses you configured in the Transmission Report settings (Step 10f above). This report includes:

  • How many products were successfully matched
  • How many products were not matched (with details)
  • How many new products were created from 4Tower
  • Standard synchronization results (products added, updated, removed, etc.)

Notification: Automatic Field Population

The 4Tower connection will automatically fill in fields that may have been left blank from your Attainia connection. When a field is empty in FitUp, the 4Tower sync will populate it for you:

If blank, filled with the Vendor information from 4Tower
Notes
Note: Additional fields may be auto-populated as they are confirmed with 4Tower. This article will be updated as new fields are added.

These fields are only populated when they are blank in FitUp. Existing data is never overwritten by the auto-population.
