Welcome to QCView! Below is a quick guide to the QCView module on FreightTrain to support the General Contractor (GC) role.
Accessing QCView
FreightTrain can be accessed from one of the following web browsers; Chrome, Firefox or Safari.
If this is your first time using QCView, you should receive an email with your login credentials and/or a link to set up your account. Follow those instructions to set up your account.
1. Enter your Username and Password in the displayed fields.
2. Select Log In to start using QCView.
3. Select the Log In with SSO Account, if your company is utilizing the Single Sign-On (SSO) to login to QCView.
4. Select your company from the dropdown list and click Continue to SSO.
5. Enter your companies SSO login credentials and you will be brought back to QCView.
QCView Dashboard/Home Page
The QCView Dashboard shows the progress of the project at a glance. Here you will find graphs showing progress of inspections, success rates, and access failed inspections.
To start using QCView, select the Get Started button. This will take you to our Search Page where you can search for inspections and issues.
Searching
In QCView, you can search across all the inspections, issue, and location information that is stored on your project.
1. To begin a search, choose the New Search button.
2. The Short Search List will populate. Choose your criteria and the available options.
3. If there is a criterion you are looking for and do not see, choose the More Search Criteria button to review our extensive list of fields to use for searches.
4. Searches can be saved for later use, using the Save this Search button.
Accessing Visual Fragnet Maps
Visual Fragnets are the project floor plans (maps) used to show the colorization of inspections based on their Inspection Types.
These can be accessed from anywhere in the system where a Visual Fragnet button is seen.
Accessing the Visual Fragnet maps without a search will show the map not colorized.
1. Once the blank map is shown, click on the Select button.
2. Select the Inspection Category and Inspection Type from the dropdown list.
3. Click Ok.
4. The Visual Fragnet will populate with the status of the inspections for the inspection type selected.
Reports
QCView offers a variety of reports for your projects. These can be accessed in several places, including the dashboard and search page. These can be accessed from anywhere in the system where a Reports button is seen.
If you complete a search and use the Reports button on the search page, the completed report will reflect your search criteria.
Reports can be retrieved from our Report Center icon. You can download them to your system or email them from the Report Center.
Creating a New Inspection
Follow the steps below to begin creating a new inspection.
1. From the Dashboard/Home Page, select Get Started
2. Select New Inspection Request from the search page.
3. The Create Inspection screen will populate.
4. Enter information for the inspection as necessary. All fields containing an * are required.
Opening or Returning a New Inspection
1. From the Search Screen, filter for the New inspections that you would like to update.
2. Once identified, you can either select an individual Inspection Request or check off the box for each Inspection Request that you would like to update, and click on the Batch Update button.
4. If updating an individual Inspection Request, select your option from one of the buttons shown in the Quick Actions section on the right panel.
5. in the next dialog, choose the status you would like to update to, fill in the necessary information, attach any attachments, and click Save.
5. If updating through the Batch Update button, in the next dialog, choose the status you would like to update to, fill in the necessary information, attach any attachments, and click Save.
6. Select Apply in the next dialog to apply your updates.
Re-Inspect a Failed Inspection
1. Locate your Failed Inspections either by completing a search for Failed inspections or you can locate them easily from the Dashboard/Home Page.
2. On the Dashboard/Home Page, locate the Inspections: New, Pending, Failed component in the lower right corner of the Dashboard.
3. In this Dashboard Component, you will see the oldest 5 inspections with status in New, Pending, Failed.
4. You can click on one of the failed inspections in the list, or select the Open full list in search page button to see all inspections in status New, Pending, and Failed in the search results page.
5. Select the ReInspect button for the inspection.
6. Review & update any information necessary for the inspection in the populated dialog.
7. Click on the Save button.
8. To finalize the inspection updates, click on the Save and Close button.
Add Location Reference Drawing (LRD) to an Inspection
If your project is utilizing the LRDs, you can add these to your inspections.
1. After creating and saving a New inspection, you will see the button, Open LRD, appear next to the Add/Edit Locations button.
2. Click on the Open LRD button to access a list of available drawings that can be marked up to define the parameters of the inspection in more detail.
3. Select a drawing from the list and click OK.
4. This will bring up the LRD Mark-Up screen. Use the tools on the right to add highlights to the selected drawing.
5. To delete any items, simply select the desired mark-up and right click on your mouse.
6. Once complete, click on the Save and Close button to save your changes.
7. You must select Save and Close in the inspection to finish updating the inspection with the LRD markups.
