Deactivating and Reactivating Locations
Deactivating a location removes it from active use in your project without deleting it. The location stays in the system and can be reactivated any time.
You'd deactivate a location when a room is no longer in scope for your project. For example, if construction plans changed and a room was removed or repurposed. Deactivated locations won't appear in the active room list, but their data is preserved.
Note: This article only covers locations only. Products, issues, delivery requests, and transfers can also be deactivated and reactivated, but that's covered in separate articles.
Getting to the
Deactivate/Reactivate page
- In FitUp, click the Module drop-down menu, then click Administration.
- Under Data Management, click Deactivate/Reactivate Items.
- The page opens with two tabs: De-Activate Location and Re-Activate Location.
The De-Activate Location tab shows all active locations in your project. You can deactivate them one at a time or in bulk.
Search for locations
Use the Lookup Location By drop-down to find the locations you want to deactivate. The options are:
Lookup type | Searches by |
Department | Filters locations by the department assigned to each room. |
Room Type | Filters by the room type (e.g., Patient Room, OR, Office). |
Arch# | Looks up a single location by its architectural number. |
Final Sign# | Looks up a single location by its final signage number.

Deactivate one location
- Find the location in the list.
- Click Deactivate in the Action column for that row.
- The location is removed from the active list immediately.
Deactivate multiple locations at once

- Click Batch Deactivate.
- All selected locations are deactivated at once.
Reactivating Locations
The Re-Activate Location tab shows all inactive locations. The process mirrors deactivation: search, select, and reactivate.
Search for inactive locations
Use the same Lookup Location By drop-down to find the locations you want to reactivate. Results show only inactive locations (Active = false).
Reactivate one location
- Find the location in the list.
- Click Reactivate in the Action column for that row.
- The location is restored to active status immediately.
Reactivate multiple locations at once
- Check the box next to each location you want to reactivate.
- Click Batch Reactivate.
- All selected locations are restored to active status.
Note: Reactivating a location restores it to the active room list, but it won't automatically reassign any products that were moved or unlinked while the location was inactive. Check your product assignments after reactivating.
